Black Tom Cassidy, also known as Thomas Cassidy, is a Marvel Comics supervillain most often associated with the X-Men. He is an Irish mutant with the ability to manipulate, control, and generate energy through plant life, particularly trees.
His first appearance was in Uncanny X-Men #99 (June 1976). Black Tom possesses a genius-level intellect and is a skilled tactician, often employing his powers for criminal endeavors.
He has a long-standing adversarial relationship with his cousin, Sean Cassidy, the X-Man known as Banshee. Black Tom has been involved in numerous conflicts with the X-Men, frequently partnering with other villains. His body was once mutated to be partially composed of wood.
